Understanding the numbers

What the specifications actually mean.

Thickness · MIL

How thick the film is, measured in thousandths of an inch. A thicker film absorbs more impact energy from stone chips and road debris.

Tensile Rate · Elasticity

How far the film stretches before it tears. Higher elasticity means cleaner wrapping around bumpers, mirrors and complex curves.

Coating Breaking Rate

How far the top coat stretches before it cracks. A higher figure keeps the surface layer intact on deeply contoured panels.

Yellowing Level · ΔE

Colour shift over time on the Delta-E scale. ΔE ≤ 2 is imperceptible to the eye — the film stays clear rather than turning amber.

Self Healing

The top coat reflows with heat, so light swirls and fine scratches disappear on their own in sunlight or with warm water.

Stain & Chemical Resistance

Resistance to bird droppings, tree sap, road salt and acidic or alkaline contaminants that would otherwise etch into paint.
